Peru showcases the best of tourism offerings at Lata Expo 2024 in UK

The Commission for the Promotion of Peru for Export and Tourism (PromPeru) secured more than 30 meetings, effectively promoting our country’s diverse cultural, nature, and adventure offerings.

Lata Expo 2024 —one of the most prestigious tourism events in the UK— was the perfect venue for PromPeru to showcase the South American country’s cultural and natural riches.

At the event —held in London from June 24 to 26— more than 30 meetings were held with key members of the UK’s tourism industry chain, including tour operators, agents, service providers, and specialized press members from British and European markets.

Similarly, interaction took place with over 250 individuals from the most relevant companies focused on tourism to Latin America from the UK.

During these meetings, joint strategic plans were discussed to promote Peru as a destination, diversify product offerings, and generate sales for the South American country.

Ancash, Arequipa, Cusco, Ica, Lima, Loreto, Madre de Dios, and Puno regions were promoted at the event. Similarly, Peru’s Bird Route was highlighted, which includes San Martin, Cajamarca, and Amazonas regions.

Alongside PromPeru, 23 other Peruvian companies participated in the event by meeting with main buyers in the market, thus strengthening international commercial relations.

Peru, a highlighted destination

In this edition, PromPeru was a sponsor of Lata Expo, resulting in the inclusion of the Peru Brand logo on the Reusable Coffee Cup given to participants, as well as branding in LATA communications, highlighting Peru as a Headline Destination.

The inaugural day included a special presentation about this destination, emphasizing the importance of promoting living cultures of local communities.

Attendees also had the chance to taste Peruvian specialty coffee, thus experiencing the high quality of this national product. This added a special flavor to the experience and showcased another aspect of our country’s riches.

It is worth noting that these activities were attended by the representative of Peru’s Receptive Tourism Sub-Directorate and supported by PromPeru’s Office in London.

The British market

In 2023, Peru welcomed more than 38,000 British tourists, drawn by culture, nature, and adventure.

With an average expenditure of US$2,122 over 20 nights, these travelers seek destinations where they can learn, disconnect, as well as live unique and exclusive moments. All these experiences and much more can be found in Peru.
