The Cajamarca Carnival is a great opportunity to boost tourism in the northern-Andean region, said Deputy Tourism Minister Madeleine Burns, who added that it is also a showcase for the jurisdiction’s gastronomy and crafts.
Within this framework, the government official congratulated the organizers for the progress this carnival has made in recent years, becoming one of the most important and eagerly-awaited celebrations for both Peruvian and foreign citizens, as it is better managed every year.
Burns estimated that it expects to welcome more than 30,000 tourists this year.
“We congratulate the organizers of the Cajamarca Carnival for continually improving this festivity. We have recently spoken with them, and they are very focused on providing better service to the number of visitors they will receive this season,” she told Red de Comunicacion Regional (RCR).
The Cajamarca Carnival will take place from Saturday, March 1, to Wednesday, March 5.
During those days, the region will transform into a vibrant scene filled with music, dance, and traditions passed down from generation to generation.
