Travelers’ continuous support allows Inkaterra Machu Picchu Pueblo Hotel to be among the Top 5 Resorts in South America, according to the prestigious 2022 World’s Best Awards by Travel + Leisure (American Express Group).
The recognition comes a few months after Inkaterra was honored with the prestigious Travel + Leisure Global Vision Award which honors companies, individuals, destinations, and organizations taking strides to develop the most sustainable and responsible travel products, practices, and experiences. Inkaterra was also named the world’s 3rd best hotel brand in last year’s edition of Travel + Leisure’s World’s Best Awards.
Established at the foot of one of the Seven Wonders of the Modern World, Inkaterra Machu Picchu Pueblo Hotel comprises 83 whitewashed adobe villas tucked away in the cloud forest amid stone pathways, terraces and waterfalls. Its lush gardens host the world’s largest native orchid collection (372 species) and 214 registered bird species – including the iconic Andean cock-of-the-rock and 18 hummingbird species. The hotel’s world-class restaurant offers guests the many marvels of Andean cuisine, while Unu Spa (“water” in Quechua) provides a spiritual experience with its 100% natural botanical extracts, its freshwater ponds, and its candle-lit Andean sauna.
“Every year for our World’s Best Awards survey, we ask readers to weigh in on travel experiences around the globe,” wrote the editorial staff of Travel + Leisure, one of the most influential and trustworthy sources in travel. “Properties were classified as city hotel, resort, or safari lodge based on their locations and amenities.” Inkaterra Machu Picchu Pueblo Hotel “is its own little village hidden away in a cloud forest,” T + L exclaims. “Guests love its jungle surroundings (one reader mentioned the “beautiful trees, shrubs, flowers, and birds”), and the food is also a highlight. ‘The meals were very good, and the servers were wonderful,’ wrote one fan. Another shared: ‘The staff is perfect as is the food.’”
