Sunday, October 20, is the deadline to vote for Peru’s eight nominations at the 2024 World Travel Awards —known as the Tourism Oscars— which recognize the best in global tourism.
Below, let’s review the categories in which our country is competing and how to vote.
At the 2023 World Travel Awards edition, Peru was crowned winner in four categories: World’s Leading Tourist Attraction: Machupicchu, World’s Leading Culinary Destination, World’s Leading Cultural Destination, and South America’s Leading Destination.
Peru’s nominations at World Travel Awards 2024
The eight nominations in different categories that Peru received at the prestigious event, which consolidates it as one of the most fascinating destinations for world travelers, are:
1.- World’s Leading Tourist Attraction 2024: Machupicchu. Our flagship tourism wonder was awarded this recognition five times (2017, 2018, 2019, 2021, and 2022).
2.- World’s Leading Culinary Destination 2024. Peru has been declared winner in this category 11 times (between 2012 and 2023).
3.- World’s Leading Cultural Destination 2024. Peru has won this trophy in five editions (2018, 2019, 2021, 2022, and 2023).
4.- World’s Leading Green Destination 2024. Peru climbed to the top of the podium in 2012.
5.-World’s Leading Destination 2024.
6.-World’s Leading Cruise Destination 2024.
7.-World’s Leading Heritage City Destination 2024: Lima, Peru.
8.- World’s Leading Tourist Board 2024: PromPeru.
