Adventure Next Peru event kicks off with familiarization trips

Adventure Next Peru puts Peru on the map as an ideal destination for nature and adventure enthusiasts. The event will take place in the city of Arequipa from December 5 to 7, featuring the participation of Peruvian exhibitors and international buyers.

Adventure Next Peru was co-organized by the Commission for the Promotion of Peru for Export and Tourism (PromPeru), the Peruvian Association of Adventure Tourism, Ecotourism and Specialized Tourism (APTAE), and the Adventure Travel Trade Association (ATTA).

During this event, a platform was provided to explore adventure sector trends through prominent speakers, share ideas in workshops and roundtable discussions, and create networking opportunities.

Additionally, as part of the preparation for Adventure Next, three familiarization trips have been conducted in Ancash, Puerto Maldonado, and Arequipa

These trips have offered international buyers a unique opportunity to immerse themselves in each region’s richness, diversity, gastronomy, and local charm.

Committed to the environment, carbon footprint will be measured and biodegradable materials will be used for stands and other elements’ implementation.

Similarly, the food is sourced almost entirely from the region and cooked on-site, minimizing transfers and supporting local production.

PromPeru aims is to ensure that tourist activities positively contribute to the country’s environmental, social, and economic well-being.

It is worth noting that adventure tourism plays a crucial role in the country. Activities such as trekking, mountaineering, mountain biking, and kayaking, among others, not only offer exciting experiences for visitors but also contribute to the conservation of ecosystems and local cultures, as well as the economic and sustainable development of regions.

Tourism Diversification

Diversifying tourism helps position Peru as a versatile and attractive destination for travelers, providing visibility to new destinations in different regions.

PromPeru is actively working on strategies to expand the country’s tourism offer. Events like Adventure Next exemplify these efforts, attracting not only conventional visitors but also those interested in unique and less-explored experiences.
