Two Inkaterra properties named among the best hotels in south America

Over 300,000 readers voted for their preferred hotel experiences during Condé Nast Traveller 2022 Readers’ Choice Awards and recognized two of Inkaterra’s luxury properties among the best hotels in South America.

Peru’s first-ever Relais & Châteaux property, Inkaterra La Casona, was one of the hotels awarded in this category. Nestled on the training grounds of an elite Incan army, the 16th century manor house hosted Spanish conquistador Diego de Almagro and Libertador Simón Bolívar among other illustrious guests. Decorated with colonial furniture, handmade textiles and original murals, Inkaterra La Casona immerses guests in Cusco’s rich heritage and vibrant traditions.

The Condé Nast Traveller Readers’ Choice Awards also acknowledged Inkaterra Hacienda Urubamba, a contemporary hacienda-style hotel amid the green mountains and harvest fields of Cusco’s Sacred Valley of the Incas, as one of the best hotels in South America. All rooms in the Casa Hacienda and stand-alone luxury casitas feature breathtaking views of the valley, immersing guests in open space, serenity and relaxing solitude. Architecture and interiors are inspired by the area’s cultural history, with colonial furniture, authentic Inca masks and handcrafted woodwork adding to the hacienda’s local charm.
